Laser Vision Correction (LASIK)

Awaken to a world in focus!

If you are nearsighted, far-sighted or have astigmatism, chances are your world is blurry or fuzzy without glasses or contact lenses. Many people are choosing vision correction surgery to avoid problems associated with wearing classes and contact lenses. Laser vision correction (LVC) can help make your world clear. Vision correction procedures are done at the Tennessee Valley Laser Center, located in the Tennessee Valley Eye Center.

Laser vision correction is an elective procedure, and is only rarely covered by medical insurance plans. However, the affordability of laser correction has never been greater, especially when you consider the cost of replacing your eyeglass frames and lenses, or the repetitive costs of disposable contact lenses. Finance options are available. Call 865-251-0336 or toll-free 1-800-269-6185 for a laser vision consultation.

(TLVC)

LASIK is currently the most common procedure used to correct conditions of myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. The LASIK procedure utilizes a laser to produce a very precise amount of correction. The procedure itself only takes a few minutes to complete and involves minimal discomfort. Bilateral (both eyes) same-day surgery is available for your convenience. Recovery is usually rapid.

Our state-of-the-art excimer laser is approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The excimer is used for the correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

When you choose to have vision correction surgery, complete instructions will be given to you before your procedure. The day of your procedure, you and a family member or friend will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to surgery. Our laser vision counselor will assist you in completing any final paperwork. You will then have the option to take a sedative to help you relax during the procedure. As your family member or friend is made comfortable and settled in our waiting area, you will be escorted into the laser surgery suite. The total time you spend at the laser facility the day of surgery will be less than two hours.

While the actual procedure is painless due to the numbing eye drops, you may experience some slight irritation during the immediate post-operative period.

Follow-up exams will be scheduled for the doctor to check your eyes and test your vision for correction results. However, you are encouraged to call our office if you have any questions or concerns about your vision correction.
