ADAM L. CARRERA, MD

Dr. Adam L. Carrera is a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He enlisted following high school and served at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan as a Munitions Systems Specialist. He returned home to East Tennessee after his service and attended King University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology (Magna Cum Laude). He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at East Tennessee State University College of Medicine where he was also elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society by his peers. He completed his internship and Ophthalmology residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis.

 

In his free time, Dr. Carrera enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashley and daughter, Addison. His hobbies include fly fishing, hunting and going to UT football games.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Dr. Adam Carrera earned a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology at King University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2011 and then continued on to earn his M.D. at East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine in 2016. He completed his residency and internship at Hamilton Eye Institute at the University of Tennessee, Memphis.

In his free time, Dr. Carrera enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. As an avid fly fisherman, he loves spending time outdoors in the mountains of East Tennessee.
