Education and Training

Dr. Lindsey attended University of Tennessee, Knoxville, for his college degree and UT Memphis for medical school, where he received Most Promising Physician Award and the Faculty Medal for finishing first in his class. He also completed his Ophthalmology Residency at UT Memphis.

Background

Charles Lindsey, M.D. has had deep roots in Tennessee. Since 1981, he has practiced General Ophthalmology in Morristown, having served in the past as Chief of Staff at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital as well as Chief of Surgery both there and Lakeway Hospital. Dr. Lindsey has also been board certified since 1982, and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology since 1985. Dr. Lindsey’s practice includes medical and surgical diseases of the eye with a special interest in cataract surgery.

Dr. Lindsey and his wife Kathy have four children along with their children’s spouses and 10 grandchildren so far. He is active at First Baptist Church in Morristown and with the UT Alumni Association.
